UPDATE: 8 men arrested after CPD SWAT team serve 3 drug-related search warrants on Lee Street and Cusseta Road – WRBL

UPDATE 11:15P.M. -Eight arrests have been made after conducting searches at three houses, two on Lee Street and one on Cussetta Road.

Charges include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects, and sale of cocaine. Columbus Police say they expect to make more arrests as the investigation continues.

Police also say this is not the first time they have served search warrants at two of the houses for sale of illegal narcotics.

The following people arrested in regards to this investigation:

23-year-old Deandre Jackson

30-year-old Jeremy Campbell

26-year-old Deaven Shepard

39-year-old Courtney Harvey

24-year-old Charlie Grant

41-year-old Maurice Dillard

40-year-old Christopher Jones

UPDATE 7:10 p.m. The Columbus Police Department conducted multiple search warrants on Lee Street and Cusseta Road Friday.

CPD Captain Debra Kennedy says the drug-related search warrants were conducted at two units at 2829 Lee Street and one at 2900 Cusseta Road. Police arrived on scene at 3:30 p.m.

Kennedy says multiple people have been taken into police headquarters for questioning. Several arrest are expected as a result of the search warrants.

The investigation is on-going.

UPDATE 6:20 p.m. The Columbus Police Department says the scene is clear at 2829 Lee Street, where officials, including the SWAT team, were conducting an investigation. Police say more information about the incident will be released in the near future.

COLUMBUS, GA (WRBL) There is a heavy police presence at a home on Lee Street in Columbus. The Columbus Police Department SWAT team has also responded to the home.

The house is located at 2829 Lee Street. Police are asking everyone to avoid the area.
