Sleep in a fairy forest, unleash royal dragon fantasies, pretend to be a princess and more at expanded Upstat – newyorkupstate.com

Two former NYC theatre set designers are ready to make your Cinderella, Game of Thrones, Dracula, and comic book hero dreams come true with a series of new cottages now open as part of the famed Roxbury Motel family in the Catskill Mountains.

Owners Gregory Henderson and Joseph Massa have opened eight tower cottages in their Stratton Falls location. In true Roxbury fashion, each tower is themed from floor to ceiling, completely immersing their guests in one-of-a-kind experiences.

The Roxbury is ready to book their newest tower creation for 2021: The Faerie Forest.

The Faerie Forest cottage is the ultimate manifestation of the propertys original inspirationthe roaring private waterfall on the grounds. The magic they felt walking to the base of the falls propelled them to buy property and create fairytale-themed rooms that would capture that same magical moment.

The forest features floor to ceiling trees, rock ledges, chandeliers aglow with faerie lights, two plush bedrooms, and a winding staircase with tiny hollow tree faerie home all carved from the same piece of wood.

Tower cottages range from $500-$650 a night and are currently open for reservations.

As if Stratton Falls tower cottages werent enough, the property is also inhabited by a mansion, featuring seven more themed mansion rooms, no two alike. The mansion rooms give more of a nod to the historic past of the property with themes like a blacksmiths quarters, a revolutionary war room, a postmasters dream, and a Victorian inspired room where the owners say they have had a few supernatural experiences.

There is also the Crooked Cabana offering pool and spa services to guests at the Stratton Falls location.

These expansions have come after Henderson and Massa originally bought a basic roadside motel in 2003. They renovated the 11 rooms and added two multi-million dollar wings bringing the total to 28 rooms and suites, plus the Shimmer Spa.

The lodging location is remote and cell phone signal drops easily in this part of the Catskills. For directions to get here, its best to use theroxburyexperience.com as GPS mapping tools may lose service.

The Roxbury at Stratton Falls has their own private nature trail which leads to the propertys waterfalls. Both Roxbury locations also offer access to Catskills Park and its 700,000 acres of New York State forest preserve and hiking trails.
