Remember watching Bollywood horror movies as a kid? Wasn't it more or less a movie that was filmed around a poorani haveli, had a scary Ramu kaka and creaking doors? These films were more funny than scary. But not all of them were funny, as some of the films that we watched as kids can still give us nightmares.

So, here is a list of Bollywood horror films that you cannot watch alone but loved watching them as a kid.

This film was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003.

Shabana Azmi's scary costume actually made us believe in the presence of a character she was playing. The pit that was shown in her old mansion scared us kids to another level.

The film was also promoted as The Web of The Witch in English.

This film has had its on-going sequels but the first one was the best of all. The film revolves around a story of a couple that is being haunted by a spirit of a woman. Bipasha Basu and Dino Morea who played the lead couple lived in an isolated huge house that had a forest nearby. This film till date can be watched again and again and will still give you goosebumps for sure.

A group of college kids is forced to stay at a deserted house called the Krishna Cottage at night and after that, unfortunate events start to happen.

The cottage is haunted by a spirit which is now after Sohail Khan as the spirit was in love with him in her previous life. It sounds dramatic but it was really scary, try watching it tonight!

It is a story of a family that moves into their new house with their son Rohan.

Rohan befriends a kid who is actually a ghost and lives on a haunted tree that is located outside the house. Rohan keeps on talking to the kid and he is the only one who can see him.

Sushmita sen plays the role of his mother in the film and thinks that he has an imaginary friend. Later, it turns out that the house is haunted by the dead.

A group of six friends get stuck on a highway, and one by one tell each other scary stories. Each story continues to get scarier than the previous one and people start to go missing.
