It has been a long time of the Marvel Cinematic Universes fans to know how it feels to be in the room where there is no light leading up to their most favorite characters hitting the big screen. But then, we got informed about a new movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness at San Diego Comic-Con over the summer.

This announcement came along with other movies and shows which Marvel is going to release in order to establish a phase four lineup. Along with it, fans were seen rejoicing about some newfound excitement. This anticipation has arisen when it was revealed by Scott Derickson, director of Doctor Strange 2 said that his movie is going to be the first Marvel scary movie.

As of last Thursday, we have seen that Scott Derrickson is no longer helming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Scott is very popularly known for making horror films. Some of his great works include Sinister, Deliver Us From Evil and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Though he s not anymore a director of the movie, he sure still is the executive producer on this Doctor Strange sequel.

And at this point in time, the Marvel sequel has been left without a director. This change only directs the fans in asking the one and the only question; Is Marvel Cinematic Universe afraid to make a horror movie?

We know that Scott Derrickson is an active user of the social networking site Twitter and since he left this project, fans have been trying to dig up clues in order to read further through one critical difference. There is this one tweet that stands out among the rest that comes from back in the month of December 2019. Scott said that studio release dates are the enemy of art.

We have tracked him during the last few months, Scott took this onto the platform to air out some more of his feelings on the subject. Obviously, he never names Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it was his only project in active preproduction. He says that not choosing at all is the worst choice before he pointed out Rian Johnson, director of The Last Jedi, for talking with him at length about a personal situation he has been dealing with.
