Producers tease The Walking Dead finale: Maybe not everyone is going to get out alive – Winter is Coming

The final episode of The Walking Dead season 10 has been put on hold for now, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. But when AMC eventually airs that finale, fans can expect some fireworks. Weve got thethe return of Lauren Cohans Maggie, the arrival of a mysteriously masked and curiously armed character, and our favorite survivors walking amidst a massive walker herd wearing the entrails of the undead as they try to put an end to the Whisperer War once and for all.

But its not gonna be easy. The finales episode title, A Certain Doom, is taken directly from the pages of Robert Kirkmans The Walking Dead comics. It does mark the end of the Whisperer War, but also features the death of Andrea, who is bitten by a walker. However, on the show, Andrea (Laurie Holden) died way back in season 3, so can we expect someone else to die in her place?

Were seeing [the survivors] more together, its clear that they have some sort of plan, but theres still that fear, executive producer Denise Huth said on The Walking Dead aftershow, Talking Dead. Theres still the knowledge that this is tricky, and that once again maybe not everyone is going to get out alive.

The walkers are being herded towards the hospital where the combined members of Oceanside, Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom including Gabriel, Lydia and Negan, with Carol, Daryl and Judith on the way are trying to hatch a plan to end the threat posed by Beta (Ryan Hurst) and his Whisperer followers. But just because they have a plan doesnt mean things are going to work out. Following theattack on Hilltop, they reconvened at the rendezvous point and clearly things have happened, a little bit of time has passed, and theyve come up with a plan. We dont necessarily know what that plan is, Huth said. You definitely get the sense that theyre preparing for an attack to come, they know its coming, and how can they solve the problem of this giant horde?

Beta is one thing, hes one man. Those thousands of walkers are a whole different deal. A lot were killed in the fire at Hilltop, but he still has a bunch, and as we saw in a previous episode, hes gathering even more.

With thousands of walkers converging on that husk of a hospital, I cant imagine everyone will make it out of the finale unscathed.

AMC has yet to confirm when it will air theseason 10 finale, saying only that it will be shown later this year.
