The Walking Dead fans convinced major Alexandrian will be resurrected as trailer shows walkers rising from – The Sun

THE Walking Dead could see one of its most prominent characters return in a sickening twist.

The AMC zombie drama recently sent fans wild with a first look trailer for the second half of season 10.

However, one particular shot has sparked debate a hand bursting through the earth of the Alexandria graveyard.

So who could be rising up from beyond the grave for a reunion of terrifying proportions?

Wait hold up.... WHOS coming back from the dead? Who didnt get stabbed in the brain? one user wrote alongside the screenshot, opening up the conversation.

Possible fallen contenders put forward by fans include the likes of Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs), Jesus (Tom Payne), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun).

However, we can narrow this down somewhat, given how Abraham and Glenn both had their heads caved in by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his infamous baseball bat Lucille.

This would make a walker-style resurrection impossible, as the brain has to be intact for reanimation, plus the two were buried in Hilltop, rather than Alexandria.

Considering Carl was buried a whopping eight years ago, it seems strange that only now he would be able to claw his way to the surface.

Carl took his own life after suffering an incurable walker bite while rescuing Siddiq (Avi Nash), shooting himself in the head.

We should also be able to rule out Jesus, who was murdered by a Whisperer in season 9, episode 8, as he too wasnt buried in Alexandria.

Siddiq reanimated after being choked to death by Dante, but Rosita (Christian Serratos) dealt with him by stabbing him through the head.

The most likely contender, then, is Cheryl (Rebecca Koon), another of Dantes victim who was smothered by a pillow.

However, show bosses threw us a major curve ball when they responded to fans comments: Who said they were dead?

Does this mean the Whisperers will tunnel under the walls of Alexandria and dig their way through the graveyard to pull off an ambush?

It would certainly explain some other moments in the trailer, namely Rositas baby being abducted by a mystery home invasion.

Heres hoping Michonne returns with her stash of weapons sooner rather than later.

The Walking Deadwill air on FOX in the UK on February 24 and be available to stream on NOW TV.
