TV THIS WEEK: Fear the Walking Dead midseason finale, Twilight Zone marathon, Killjoys and more – SYFY WIRE (blog)

It's a relatively slow week but hey you'll probably be out shooting fireworks anyway, right? If not, there are still a few things worth checking out on the small screen.

This week features the midseason finale of Fear the Walking Dead, plus new episodes of Zoo and Orphan Black. Syfy's summer slate is also going strong, with new episodes of Blood Drive, Killjoys, Wynonna Earp and Dark Matter all hitting this week. There's also the annual 4th of July Twilight Zone marathon to keep running in the background while you're grilling up some burgers.

We've also rounded up a few movie recommendations, including ID4, which is pretty much a staple of the holiday. Watch it for Bill Pullman's speech, if nothing else. Don't worry about the sequel, though. We're still trying to forget about that one.

Check out our rundown of the week below and set your DVR accordingly:

The Twilight Zone Marathon (Syfy), Tuesday 12 a.m.

A 31-hour marathon of the sci-fi classic, kicking off with the classic episode "Hocus Pocus and Frisby." The sci-fi allegories keep rolling until 7 a.m. on July 5.

Blood Drive (Syfy), Wednesday 10 p.m. - "In the Crimson Halls of Kane Hill"

Arthur and Grace take a dangerous detour to a mental asylum in search of Grace's missing sister.

Killjoys (Syfy), Friday 8 p.m. - "A Skinner, Darkley"

As Dutch and D'avin attempt to train a replacement nerd, John finds his search for Clara is getting under some people's skin.

Wynonna Earp (Syfy), Friday 10 p.m. - "Let's Pretend We're Strangers"

The battle for Waverly's soul continues, and Wynonna will never be the same.

Fear the Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday 9 p.m. - "The Unveiling/Children of Wrath"

MIDSEASON FINALE: A new arrival sows a divide within the ranch. Meanwhile, Alicia forms a new relationship in hopes of maintaining peace. Then Madison must negotiate the terms of an agreement in the midst of ranch-wide turmoil.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (FX), Monday 8 p.m.

Before hitting the theater to see Spider-Man: Homecoming this weekend, check out the final installment in the aborted series that led Sony to call it quits and team up with Marvel Studios. Sure, it's not perfect, but it still has some fun moments and Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy is pretty much perfect.

Preacher (AMC), Monday 9 p.m. - "Damsels"

Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy get a tip that God might be in New Orleans, but Tulip's hiding a secret and their stop in New Orleans risks exposing her.

The Twilight Zone Marathon(Syfy), Tuesday 12 a.m.

See more in our Highlights section above.

Independence Day (E!), Tuesday 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. again, the title says it all.

You knew it'd be playing somewhere, right? Celebrate the 4th of July with some old-school Will Smith and Jeff Golblum using nothing but their wits and a MacBook to shut down an alien invasion.

Blood Drive (Syfy), Wednesday 10 p.m. - "In the Crimson Halls of Kane Hill"

See more in our Highlights section above.

Outside of that? It's a pretty slow night. Catch up on the DVR, pull out a good book or dive into your streaming watch list. Personally, I'm rekindling a Battlestar Galactica rewatch on Hulu, and it's glorious.

The Mist (Spike), Thursday 10 p.m. - "Show and Tell"

At the church, Connor locks up Mia, Jonah and Kevin in the basement. Back at the mall, Jay confronts Alex to try to convince her that he didn't rape her.

Zoo (CBS), Thursday 10 p.m. - "Diaspora"

Jackson and Logan discover a link between the hybrid attacks that occur in Portland and New York. Meanwhile, Mitch is interrogated by a woman claiming to be his daughter; and a new development in Abraham's research into the sterility crisis endangers his family.

Killjoys (Syfy), Friday 8 p.m. - "A Skinner, Darkley"

See more in our Highlights section above.

Dark Matter (Syfy), Friday 9 p.m. - "One More Card to Play"

It's Raza vs. Raza when other-dimensional alternates of the crew steal weapons and the real crew must get them back.

Josh Gates' Destination Truth (Travel), Friday 9 p.m. - "Mysteries of Haboro and Untamed Tanzania"

Josh Gates heads to an abandoned mining town in northern Japan to investigate accounts of strange happenings in a deserted school. Then he's off to Tanzania to hunt for a terrifying beast that haunts the untamed African plains.

Wynonna Earp (Syfy), Friday 10 p.m. - "Let's Pretend We're Strangers"

See more in our Highlights section above.

Ghost Adventures (Travel), Saturday 9 p.m. - "The Viper Room"

Zak and the crew investigate the infamous Viper Room on West Hollywood's Sunset Strip. With a famous owner, the tragic death of a beloved actor and the unsolved disappearance of a business partner, the nightclub is filled with sinister energy.

Orphan Black (BBC America), Saturday 10 p.m. - "Ease for Idle Millionaires"

Secrets surface about Kira's special gifts while she spends time bonding with Sarah. Elsewhere: Cosima joins Delphine at the mansion for a strange family dinner.

Elektra (IFC), Sunday 8 p.m.

Okay, look. This movie is terrible. But it's a certain type of terrible that makes it weirdly rewatchable. The Daredevil-adjacent sequel follows an assassin who decides to protect her intended victim from supernatural ninjas.

Fear the Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday 9 p.m. - "The Unveiling/Children of Wrath"

See more in our Highlights section above.

Twin Peaks (Showtime), Sunday 9 p.m. - "Part 9"

This is the chair.
