The Vampire RPG Nighthawks Coming to PC in 2021 – Softpedia News

I usually play all games about vampire society and Nighthawks is up on my list of upcoming games to play. A collaboration between writer/designer Richard Cobbett (Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies), artist Ben Chandler (Unavowed, Shardlight, Technobabylon), and indie adventure game developer Wadjet Eye Games (Unavowed, the Blackwell series), Nighthawks will be released for PC in early 2021, but make sure to wishlist it on Steam if you're a fan of vampire games.

However, Nighthawks is more than just a game where you get to impersonate a vampire, it's an urban fantasy RPG that promises to challenge players to seize the night like a modern vampire in a newly awakened world.

So, while this is still fantasy, the story takes place in a twisted, darkly comic, yet modern city where humans and vampires are struggling to live together. You'll be taking over a decrepit nightclub on the wrong side of the tracks, and turn it into your personal empire using all the traits that vampires are known for, such as seduction, intimidation, and other supernatural gifts.

Throughout the game, you'll be able to befriend and recruit fellow outcasts, learn more about their goals and what drives them, as well as harness their skills for your own advantage. More importantly, the game will be fully voiced and every decision you make will push the world toward a, hopefully, united future or forever destroy any hope for peaceful coexistence.

Although it does look more like a visual novel rather than an RPG or adventure game, Nighthawks does feature a combat system where you engage in strategic text-battles against humans and vampires.

One other interesting thing worth adding is that the game's layered story is written in ink, the storytelling technology behind the award-winning narrative games Heaven's Vault and 80 Days, which we've already reviewed.
