THE HUNGER: Remake Of Tony Scott’s Steamy 1983 Vampire Drama In The Works At Warner Bros. – CBM (Comic Book Movie)

The late Tony Scott (Top Gun, Man on Fire, True Romance) made his directorial debut back in 1983 with a stylish adaptation of Whitley Strieber's The Hunger, and Warner Bros. is now developing a remake.

Angela Robinson (True Blood, D.E.B.S.) is in final talks to direct, with American Horror Story scribe Jessica Sharzer penning the script.

The original starred Catherine Deneuve as Miriam Blaylock, a centuries-old vampire whose latest lover, John (David Bowie), begins to age rapidly. In desperation, he seeks out a scientist (Susan Sarandom) who believes she may have found the secret to eternal youth, leading to a love triangle with tragic and horrific consequences.

The film gained a measure of notoriety for its steamy sex scenes, and has gone on to achieve cult status. It was only very loosely based on Strieber's book, however, so fans will be hoping for a more faithful re-adaptation.

This new version will be produced by Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, with Mike McGrath on board as exec producer.
