Anderson brothers sought in attack – The Herald Bulletin

MUNCIE Authorities in Delaware County are seeking two Anderson brothers suspected of viciously attacking a 47-year-old man with a hammer last month.

The Delaware County prosecutor's office has issued warrants for the arrest of 39-year-old John Edward Moore, and 34-year-old Christopher Lee Moore, 2100 block of Central Avenue.

Upon his arrest, John Moore will be charged with Level 3 felony aggravated battery, and Level 5 battery by means of a deadly weapon; Christopher Moore is facing charges aiding, inducing or causing aggravated battery, a Level 3 felony, and Class A misdemeanor battery resulting in bodily injury.

The charges stem from a fight that occurred at a home in the 6900 block of of North County Road 700 West in Delaware County, according to a probable cause statements filed in the case.

The victim arrived home from work between 8 and 9 p.m. and learned his longtime girlfriend and her daughter were having argument, according to police. The daughter wanted to go out with her boyfriend, and the mother wanted her to stay home.

A pickup truck arrived at the house, and the victim went outside to see if the young woman's boyfriend was in the truck. The driver, later identified as John Moore, and hit the victim in the head with a hammer breaking his nose and shattering an eye socket. Christopher Moore got out and punched the victim's partner in the face and knocked her down.

The victim "ended up with a broken nose and a broken eye socket due to the hammer strike to the head," according to the probable cause affidavit. "He has been through several surgeries that have left him with metal plates in his head around his eye socket," it continued, noting the injuries may be permanent.
