Grand Jury convened on Monday – Mountain Statesman

TAYLOR COUNTYThe Taylor County Grand Jury met Monday, January 13, and handed down indictments to individuals for multiple charges.

In total, the Grand Jury administered indictments in 22 difference cases, including Louellen J. Bonner, 51, of Grafton, for four counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, four counts of sexual assault in the first degree and four counts of incest.

Additionally, Charles Bonner, Sr., 74, of Grafton, was indicted for two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian or person in a position of trust, two counts of sexual assault in the first degree and two counts of incest.

Dennis W. Shepphard, 60, of Grafton, was charged with one count of strangulation and one count of domestic battery.

Alexander Wolf Weinstein, unknown age and location, was indicted for third offense domestic violence.

Timothy Junior Newlon, 42, address unknown, faced indictment for one count of third offense domestic battery, in two separate cases.

Jody Ray McCartney, 35, of Bridgeport, was indicted for manufacture of a controlled substance.

Timothy A. Trott, 44, of Grafton, currently being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, faced indictment for one count of fleeing in a vehicle from law enforcement showing reckless indifference for the safety of others and one count of person in possession of a firearm that was prohibited to carry a firearm.

Nicholas Scott Poe, 21, of Hambleton, WV, was indicted on one count of fleeing from law enforcement showing reckless indifference for the safety of others.

Aaron Shayne Simpson, 21, address unknown, was indicted for driving while license suspended or revoked for driving while under the influence third or subsequent offense.

Justin Philip Moore, 22, of Grafton, was charged with driving while license suspended or revoked for driving while under the influence third or subsequent offense, by Taylor County Sheriffs Department Chief Deputy R. Durrett.

Justin Philip Moore, 22, of Grafton, was additionally charged with driving while license suspended or revoked for driving while under the influence third or subsequent offense, by Grafton Police Department Officer Cosby.

James Robert Johnston, Jr., 39, of Reedsville, was charged with two counts of third offense shoplifting.

Jessica Whitmer, 39, of Grafton, was indicted on one count obtaining money by false pretenses.

Aaron D Combs, 42, unknown address, was indicted on two counts of obtaining money by false pretenses.

Additionally, Combs was indicted for one count of felony escape.

John Wayne Wortman, 37, of Mount Olive Prison; Christopher Lee Larew, 37, of Tunnelton; and Michael Tood Lohr, 44, of Grafton were also charged with one count each of felony escape.

Meanwhile, Lannie E. Shaffer, 27; Douglas Scotchel, 35; and Melissa Riggleman 44, were all indicted on one count of failure to appear.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty, and each are awaiting hearings and trials for their alleged crimes.
