Writers Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti team up with artist Chad Hardin to craft one of the most disturbing Super-Pets adventures of all time, The Super-Threats! In the story, Krypto the Superdog returns from a mission in deep space to find that there is a ring around Earth. As he flies closer, however, Krypto realizes that the ring is actually made of human corpses. He quickly rushes to the Hall of Justice, only to find everything around him in ruins. The only living beings he is able to find, however, are his fellow Super-Pets: Ace, Streaky, Nathan, Comet, Beppo, and Bat-Cow. Krypto, understandably terrified, asks what happened and Beppo explains the whole story.

Readers are treated to a flashback which shows the Super-Pets getting attacked by the Legion of Dooms Soviet bear, Red Medvo. Beppo is able to tranquilize the ravenous foe, but not before the bear deals a few scratches to the rest of the team. As they try to recover, Beppo does some tests on Red Medvo in his lab, only to discover that the villain is infected with a highly contagious virus. The Super-Monkey turns to check on his teammates but finds that theyve gone feral. Beppo locks himself in the lab and starts working on a cure as his infected friends begin spreading the virus. Within 24 hours, the Super-Pets have infected the entire planet. Beppo soon creates enough antivirals to rescue his teammates, but by then, its too late. All life on Earth has been obliterated. Unfortunately, once Beppo finishes telling his story, the effects of the cure begin to wear off, and the rest of the Super-Pets turn toward Krypto and Beppo with a hungry look in their eyes.
