Dying Light: Best Things to Do After Beating The Game – Screen Rant

Dying Light is loaded with activities hidden throughout the map. This guide will show players what they can do after completing the campaign.

Dying Light is an open-world zombie adventure that takes players through the slums of a third-world city named Harran. While playing as an undercover agent named Kyle Crane, players; fight, parkour, craft, and sneak through Harran to retrieve intel being held by a terrorist. There is a number of things to do, especially after completing the story and this guide will focus on some of the best things to try out.

Developed by Techland, Dying Light was originally released in 2015 and it introduced a new concept of exploring a zombie-infested wasteland with a parkour system that's akin to the Assassin's Creed franchise. As players take control of Kyle Crane, they are free to explore a fully open world full of places to loot and side-quests to complete. Players will need to scavenge the map and collect resources to craft weapons and other important items to aide them on their quest to find Kadir "Rais" Suleiman. He is a rogue political figure that has information that can ruin Crane's organization's reputation and he must infiltrate the city of Harran to find it and get out in one piece. Not only there are undead drones patrolling the streets, but also various factions of survivors ready to pillage anyone that gets in their way. There are "safe zones" peppered throughout the map that players must first clean out and power-up in order to effectively unlock new missions via various NPC's that will ultimately spawn there. These are where side-missions can be found as well as merchants, doctors, and other essential characters to help players out.

The core of combat is using an expansive list of melee weapons that players can find or create. Utilizing light RPG mechanics, each weapon comes with stats that reflect its effectiveness which also degrades over time. Players will need to constantly repair their weapons or simply switch out with something better. There are over 1000 possibilities on how weapons can be forged. Everything from an electrified metal baseball bat to a flaming lead pipe can be constructed through items that are found in; abandoned buildings, corpses, and by lock-picking chests. Through a dynamic day and night cycle system, players will need to stay on their toes as the enemies will mutate based on the time of day. Daytime zombies are just standard biters and even exploding walking time bombs. At night, they transform into "Volatiles", which are fast-moving monsters that will chase players throughout the map while they cling onto their dying flashlight. On top of that, players will need to mind not only their health but also their stamina as enemies claw after Crane from every angle during the chase. The main campaign will take players to every corner of the map and once they finally defeat "Rais", chances are there is a slew of activities overlooked.

Dying Light is a very dense game and there's no question that players will miss a lot during their first playthrough. Ideally, it's a good idea to branch out and complete side-missions to garner XP to level up Crane. Of course, sometimes players get tunnel vision and they just focus on the main storyline and ignore everything else in-between. If that's the case, luckily Dying Lightgives players the option to jump back into Harron post-credits and explore the map in its entirety and pick it clean. Even though the game has been around for almost 5 years, there's still a healthy community of players still chewing on it through its co-op feature. On top of that, there are tons of things to collect and complete throughout the map. The following is a list of some of the best things to do after taking out "Rais" and completing the story.

Side Missions in Quarantine Zones

Find Collectibles

Complete Challenges

Co-op Modes

Lastly, it worth noting that there is also some DLC available "Hellraid" and "The Following". The latter is an expansion to Kyle Crane's story that focuses on developing his character a little more. Meanwhile, 'Hellraid' is a game being developed by Techland that's currently on hold that players can try out. It's still basically Dying Light in terms of gameplay, but it's a hellish fantasy slasher that puts players in a whole new realm. Therefore, there's no question that there's a wealth of things to do after finishing Dying Light's story and getting more out if beyond its initial campaign.
