Zombieland Almost Had A Zombie Version Of Star Wars Actor Mark Hamill – Heroic Hollywood

Zombieland co-writer Paul Wernick revealed the film almost featured Star Wars actor Mark Hamill.

One of the most memorable aspects of Zombieland was the cameo appearance by acclaimed actor Bill Murray, who portrayed a fictional version of himself who was mistaken for a zombie and shot by Jessie Eisenbergs Columbus. However, Zombieland co-writer Paul Wernick revealed the filmmakers originally envisioned Star Wars icon Mark Hamill making an appearance for a similar sequence.

In a series of posts on his official Twitter account, Wernick revealed that they considered asking Mark Hamill after their top choice, Patrick Swayze, was unable to appear due to his battle with pancreatic cancer at the time and their second choice, Sylvester Stallone, was a no-go. As the Zombieland script pages shared by Wernick revealed, Mark Hamills cameo would have played out almost the same as Bill Murrays appearance, with the hero visiting the Star Wars legends home amid the zombie apocalypse.

However, Mark Hamill would have actually turned out to be a zombie and a duel would have erupted between him and Tallahassee, which would have ended with the Star Wars actor getting his hand cut off before being killed. Of course, Mark Hamill did not sign on to appear in Zombieland and the scene had to be retooled for Bill Murray. Check out the post below.
