Will There Ever Be A Warm Bodies 2? – Looper

Although there hasn't been any confirmation from writer and director Jonathan Levine or Summit Entertainment about a second film (via The Cinemaholic), there are options for a sequel or even a prequel. "Warm Bodies" is an adaptation of the book of the same name, written by Isaac Marion, and that book has a prequel and two sequels.

That means the script for the second movie could easily be an adaptation of the first sequel, "The Burning World." In this novel, we follow R's journey of reintegrating everything he once knew before he became a zombie back into his memory while he and others face intolerance from those who have always been human.

Alternatively, the franchise could go backward in time and adapt the prequel, "The New Hunger," which explores Julie's life as she grows up in an undead-filled world and reveals how R became a zombie.

Interestingly, there is a "Warm Bodies" television show in the works under Levine's production company, Megamix. Hopefully, the unique and refreshing cinematic story of R and Julie will come back soon, whether that's on the big screen or streaming services.
