‘Isle Of The Dead’ Adds New Cast Member To Zombie Series – Horror News Network

Negan and Maggie are getting company in their continuing struggles against the undead.

IsleoftheDeadone of AMCs spinoffs of its long-runningTheWalkingDeadseries that wraps up its successful run later this yearhas signed up Gaius Charles (FridayNightLights) as a lead opposite fan-favorites Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, according to a report on Deadline.

The six-episode seriesslated to debut on AMC and AMC+ sometime next yearfollows Morgans Negan and Cohans Maggie as they traverse a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland, according to the synopsis.

The decaying metropolis is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror.

Charles will portray a character named Perlie Armstrong, described as confident, ruthless and unyielding in the pursuit of what he believes is justicea family man who is devoted to building a safe world for his wife and daughters.

IsleoftheDeadis led by showrunner Eli Jornea writer and executive producer onTWDand executive producers Scott M. Gimple, Cohan and Morgan.

AMC president of entertainment Dan McDermott said this new show will let us explore a corner ofTWDuniverse on the island of Manhattan, with an iconic skyline that takes on a very different meaning when viewed through the lens of a zombie apocalypse.

TheWalkingDeadflagship seriesbased on the comic books by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlardwill conclude its 11th and final season later this year.
